Blessed Virgin Mary, my dearest heavenly mother,
I'm writing this letter to say thank you. Thank you for your daily presence by my side. Thank you for your soothing and encouraging presence at every moment of my life, and of my new life as a Catholic.
Yes, it was during the Chartres pilgrimage in 2013, when I was wondering about the Christian religion, that your presence came to me as something obvious and natural. That’s when I began to pray the rosary.
I had physical and practical difficulties to go through, but you gave me your comforting presence, through the assistance of a pilgrim who helped me and gave me her rosary... I cherished that rosary but somehow managed to lose it in 2024. I console myself with the thought that maybe it's helping someone else on their journey. And you also provided for my need, since you inspired someone to give me another rosary, this one from Medjugorje.
Yes, since Chartres 2013, I've been on a journey towards Jesus, and you're the one who’s been on the side of the road repeating to me, "Do whatever he tells you." It is you, my heavenly mother, who provides me with a model of this trust in Jesus, in all things, at all times.
My sorrows and weariness, my moments of despair, I have entrusted them all to you, my heavenly mother. You've always been there for me. Today, as I am in Lourdes on a national pilgrimage, I absolutely want to dedicate to you those moments in my life when I pause for you, to intentionally thank you. Thank you, Mary.
