The Marian shrine of Medjugorje(1) is located in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in the Balkans. What can be said about this holy place that has not yet been said? Only that, just as every Muslim must go on pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in his or her life, every Catholic should go on pilgrimage to Medjugorje at least once in his or her life. It is worth it, I assure you! Do not listen to the skeptics and go find out for yourself.
There are no crazy people there, only real people, in search of love and inner peace, through an abundance of graces and powerful witnessing. All you have to do is surrender yourself to Mary. It is a constant exchange of love. You have nothing to lose and I can promise you that you will not be disappointed!
Do not be afraid! Are you afraid of being called to become a priest or a nun? So what? God wants all of us to be happy and if our true happiness lies in this direction, isn't that more wonderful? But rest assured: although we are all called to holiness, it does not necessarily mean that we are all called to be a priest, on the contrary! Marriage is also a vocation. As Father Francesco, our companion in the St. John community, so well put it: "My goal is to make saints of you, and God will do the rest!" For my part, I took the step to go there and I have been feeling much better since, even though I did not become a priest when I returned to France.
We are fortunate to be alive at a time when the Virgin Mary is still appearing on earth. But for how long? We cannot miss this grace freely granted by Jesus to the world. The Virgin Mary comes for us, she has invited us to meet her, so the least we can do is to not disappoint her and to take her outstretched hand.

(1) Medjugorje has been a place of Catholic pilgrimage since the Virgin Mary began to appear to several visionaries there in 1981, on the "hill of apparitions". Even today, some of the visionaries continue to be visited by Mary at certain times of the year.
