What can I say about the few days I spent in Medjugorje (Bosnia-Herzegovina)? That through Providence I met a friend who had just gone on this epic pilgrimage and motivated me to go? That I met open-hearted young people? That I had a wonderful time? That I attended the most beautiful night of adoration of my life? Absolutely. But one thing that stands out is the incredible testimony of Sister Claire Marie (Oasis de la Paix).
When I saw her I felt like I was seeing Happiness in person! She exudes joy of life, goodness and peace. Before, I found it hard to accept and understand that girls could give up marriage and motherhood to follow a life of prayer. How could such a life make anyone happy?
I was touched by her luminous face and her strong and very moving testimony. In her I met a woman who had a life, who asked herself existential questions, who went through phases of doubt, who used to be just like most of us, and who one day felt called by God.
In the past, I often begged the Lord not to call me to be a nun. After hearing her story, I realized that even if I don't want to be a nun and I can't even imagine being one, I can still be fulfilled by dedicating my life to prayer and to the Lord.
