In 1961, in Garabandal, a village of 300 inhabitants in the Spanish Pyrenees, at a place called La Calleja, four young girls, Conchita, Jacinta, Mari Loli and Mari Cruz reported seeing an angel, followed by an intense light "that does not hurt the eyes" and then the Virgin Mary - who came under her title of Our Lady of Carmel.

From July 2, 1961 to November 13, 1965, the girls reported more than 2,000 encounters with the Virgin.

Message of June 18, 1965 (through Saint Michael):

"Since my Message of October 18, 1961, has not been fulfilled and has not been widely made known to the world, I want to tell you that this is the last one. Before, the Cup (of the Divine Wrath) was filling up; now it is overflowing.

Cardinals, bishops and priests are walking in great numbers on the road to perdition and are dragging souls along with them. The Eucharist is given less and less importance. You have to make efforts to avoid the wrath of God that weighs on you.

If you ask Him for forgiveness, with sincere souls, He will forgive you. I, your Mother, through the intercession and agency of St. Michael, want to tell you to amend your ways.  You are now being given the last warnings.

I love you very much, and I do not want your condemnation. Pray to us sincerely, and we will hear you. You must sacrifice more. Meditate on the Passion of Jesus".
