A miracle of Notre Dame de La Garde

French actor Laurent Hennequin, 55, of the TV series "Plus belle la vie", experienced a true miracle at the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde in Marseille (southern France), a majestic church overlooking the “Phocaean city”, as it is historically called. Hennequin revealed this story in an Instagram live for Capitaine Cinemaxx.

Fifteen years ago, in 2006, Hennequin was in a terrible motorcycle accident and almost died. He couldn’t walk anymore. "I had a major accident in which I almost lost my leg. I spent three years in a wheelchair," he said. He did however regain the use of his leg, not because of the rehabilitation sessions but by divine intervention!

After the accident, his very religious Brazilian girlfriend took him to Marseille and insisted that they visit the famous basilica that the locals call "the Good Mother". Once inside, Laurent, moved by the beauty of this splendid 19th-century church, set out to explore it from top to bottom. He discovered a hidden staircase which he took, as if guided by an inner force. "I went down, and down. I opened some doors and I entered poorly lit rooms, and a place that had a very sacred atmosphere. I experienced something very powerful there."

He went home to prepare for a complicated surgery...which never took place. "The doctor told me that a miracle had happened. My antibodies level had risen like never before. My leg had healed, and I was cured! I concluded that God had granted me a miracle at Notre-Dame de la Garde," an amazed Hennequin says.
