"The figure of Mary guides us on the path of the new evangelization. At times, it can seem like a journey through the "desert" (Rev 12:1-6). And just as in the night sky of the desert, the stars are brighter, so in the sky of our journey the light of Mary, Star of the New Evangelization, shines very brightly, to whom we entrust ourselves with confidence," declared Archbishop Christian Lépine of Montreal, Canada, on August 15, 2021, in his homily at the Assumption Mass celebrated in Mary Queen of the World Cathedral.
On this occasion, the mission of evangelization of the Diocese of Montreal was entrusted to the Virgin Mary, Star of the New Evangelization.
Archbishop Lépine led a "Jericho" prayer walk after Mass so that "the walls that separate us from God and from others may come down in our hearts."
