February 15 - Apparition of the Child Jesus to Lucia of Fatima (Pontevedra, Portugal, 1926)

To make reparation to the Heart of our Heavenly Mother

The Virgin Mary had asked Sister Lucia of Fatima to make known to the world the devotion of the first five Saturdays of the month which consists, for five consecutive months, in receiving holy communion, reciting the Rosary while meditating for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the Rosary in a spirit of reparation, and to confess one’s sins within 8 days, with the intention of making reparation to the Heart of Mary.

Our Mother promised to those who would practice it, her assistance at the time of death, with all the graces necessary for the salvation of their souls.

On February 15, 1926, returning from the garden after emptying a garbage can, Sister Lucia saw the Child Jesus, who asked her: “Have you revealed to the world what the Heavenly Mother has asked you?”

Lucia admitted that no, she had not. Then the Child Jesus said to her: “It is true that many souls begin but sadly few persevere to the very end, and those persevere do it to receive the graces promised. The souls who practice the first five Saturdays with fervor and with the intention of making reparation to the Heart of your Heavenly Mother please me more than those who make 15, but are lukewarm and indifferent.”
