On Sunday, October 16, 2011, in the presence of the Bishop of Cahors (France) Monsignor Turini, the Rector of Rocamadour (France), Ronan Gouvello, many priests and politicians of the region, the Roc Rugby Club and its players, the Shrine of Rocamadour consecrated a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Ovalie.
There is already a chapel of “Our Lady of Rugby” in Larrivière-Saint-Savin (France), which is why a twinning was decided with the chapel "Our Lady of Ovalie" that the city of Rocamadour inaugurated, dedicated to rugby players injured or deceased during or after games (during transports of the players).
This is, the rector of the shrine of Rocamadour says, to let active or retired rugby players, their families and friends, come to a place intended for them. Inside the chapel is a carved wooden replica of Our Lady of Rugby offered by the friends of Larrivière-Saint-Savin.
The consecration was followed by a Mass celebrated by Monsignor Turini.
