The Rosary: The prayer that Our Lady recommended most often

In a letter to a nephew priest, dated April 4, 1970, Sister Lucia, one of the seers of Our Lady at Fatima, Portugal, sent this piece of advice to help his ministry:

"We have to recite the Rosary every day. It is the prayer that Our Lady recommended most often! The devil knows that we will be saved through prayer. So he is waging a battle against it to ruin us. Recite the Rosary daily. Do not be afraid to expose the Blessed Sacrament and to say the Rosary in the Lord’s presence.

It is not true to say that it is not liturgical, because all the prayers of the Rosary are part of the holy liturgy; and if they do not displease God when we recite them in celebrating the Holy Sacrifice, they can’t displease him if we recite them in His presence when He is exposed to our adoration. On the contrary, it is the most pleasing prayer to Him, because it is through it that we praise him best…

How could the prayer that God has taught us and so much recommended, be outdated? It is easy to recognize here the cunning of the devil and his followers who want to keep God's souls away from prayer... Do not buy into this deception."
