On June11th, the icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa came to Vladivostok. She had traveled by van from Moscow via Kazakhstan, covering about 6800 miles and seven time zones.
On June 12th, the icon was presented to the veneration of the faithful in the cathedral of the Russian city of Pokrov, where it was venerated by a crowd of faithful including pilgrims from other Russian cities. The faithful prayed for a long time before the icon, touched it and embraced it. Mention was made of the protection of human life, which is the main objective of this pilgrimage "from ocean to ocean," which has aroused great interest in local populations and media.
On Thursday, June 14th, the icon of the Mother of God left for the Far East, in Siberia and then in the direction of Europe. Its arrival was scheduled in Fatima for Christmas 2012.
