We must tremble to touch the mystery of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is profound, very pure, very luminous, and anyone who lacks what it takes to approach it - all of us really, because of our resistance and the heaviness of our minds - can only demean it, and distort it in their own particular way.
We must ask the Blessed Virgin herself to open our hearts, and to make them transparent so that her mystery may not be diminished in us or adapted to our measure, but that we ourselves may be changed into its light.
Cardinal Journet
