Rozsika Marian, a Romanian Gypsy of Hungarian origin and mother of two, became blind at the age of thirty. Since 1995, she says she has “seen” the Virgin Mary three or four times a year in the Catholic parish church of Seuca in Romania. Church officials are keeping a close eye on the matter, and are already observing the numerous results: conversions, new-found peace, a return to the sacraments, etc... An altar has been set up in the church cemetery where, on the day of the apparitions, 10 to 15 000 pilgrims join the visionary for Eucharistic adoration and the recitation of the Rosary.

The Virgin Mary appeared to Rozsika for the first time on July 17, 1995, at around 11 p.m. in the church of Seuca. That July 17 will remain engraved in her mind forever; from midday onwards, she sensed that her prayers were far more fervent than usual. Rozsika talks about a "before" and an "after" this first apparition: she was deeply and permanently converted at that moment.

On the second occasion, the Virgin Mary appeared in a somewhat different form: Rozsika was contemplating a statuette of the Virgin, when the latter became surrounded by an extraordinary light, before turning into a living woman of supernatural beauty. Apart from the first apparition on July 17, 1995, the Virgin Mary would appear to her on specific dates announced in advance. In addition to the miracles of healing that occurred in the church of the apparitions, and the inexplicable blossoming of an apple tree in the middle of winter (1996), the apparition delivered messages that insisted on the urgent need for world conversion.

Since 1995, the Virgin has taught Rozsika several prayers and entrusted her with "secrets". The visionary has publicly revealed four of them, all of which concern the urgent need for conversion, stating that she has not yet received permission to reveal the others.

Gradually, the circle of pilgrims increased, without any publicity, and the apparitions became public, with the cautious permission of the archdiocese. On July 17, 2001, around 5000 people gathered around Rozsika for the apparition of the day. Since then, the Catholic church in Seuca has been the only site where the apparitions take place.  On June 17, 2004, the Virgin dictated the following message summarizing the Seuca apparitions: "Dear children, I thank you for having responded to my call transmitted to you by this daughter of mine [...]. Seek to walk the path of holiness and peace that leads to my Son. Only through holiness can you reach his heart."

Among the alleged miracles, that of the " dance of the sun " occupies a special place. Observed after several public appearances by hundreds of people, this dance lasts around 15 minutes. Surprisingly, witnesses are able to watch the sun without fear. Some wear sunglasses, take photos or films, but no ocular damage has been reported.

At the end of the apparition on July 17, 2007, the Virgin Mary gave the following message: "My name here in this place is 'Queen of Light'". This is now the name under which Mary is venerated in Seuca.
