Several years passed and new difficulties led Mylène, now a mother, to go on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje (1). There she had another powerful Marian experience, and on her return she became involved in various Church ministries: catechism, a mom’s prayer group, etc. "When you experience this kind of love, it's like you're in a church," she says. "When you experience this peace and love, you want to make it known. The suffering of others urges us to be witnesses, to lead them along a path that lifts them up."

Following a spiritual retreat, a professional change also took place. Mylène turned to osteopathy, something she had never considered before. "I've always had people on my path to help me on my journey and not let go of my faith. At that point, I had the grace to meet a Christian osteopath to guide me."

This job allowed her to live out her faith alongside those who are suffering. "Every morning, I start by praying my rosary. It's my driving force! In my practice, I have a missionary icon of Our Lady of Brightness (Notre Dame de Clarté), from the Dominican Sisters of Salernes (2), who have a ministry of compassion. During the day, I entrust all my patients to her:  ‘Mary, you see them, you hear them, place them in the heart of your son Jesus.’ I, who am sometimes clumsy in my prayers, ask Mary to say them in her own way, so that they become her prayer."

A silent witness to each session, the icon of Our Lady of Brightness depicts Mary with a star on her shoulder... It is a beautiful reminder of Mylène's story and path of prayer.
