The Church embraced the message of Fatima above all because it contains a truth and a call which, in their fundamental content, are the truth and the call of the Gospel itself. “Repent and believe in the Gospel” (Mk 1:15). (...) The message of Fatima, in its fundamental core, is the call to conversion and penance, as in the Gospel (...).

The events that have taken place on the European continent, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe, give this Gospel call a contemporary significance (...).

The heart of the Mother of God is that of a Mother who cares not only for individuals, but for entire nations and peoples. This Heart is totally given to the saving mission of her Son, who is Christ, the Redeemer of the world, the Redeemer of man...(...).

In its message and blessing, Fatima signifies conversion to God.
