Advent is about waiting like and with Mary

Advent is all about trusting and waiting like and with Mary. The liturgical year begins with the fervor of Advent, this joyful expectation of Someone who is about to come, of Emmanuel God-with-us, a God who enters the history of mankind to go through all its stages and share the anxieties, joys, sorrows, hopes and concerns of men and women throughout history and the whole of humankind.

This is the novelty of Christianity: a God who loves humankind so much that he becomes part of it, like every human being!

Yes, the season of Advent has us waiting for a divine and joyful childhood, for the joy of the Lord who becomes human, who takes flesh, and who embraces the human adventure through the experience of everyday life, with the simplicity and innocence of a child. And who becomes one of us in order to give us divine life.
