"We must be aware of a great truth which is not sufficiently known, that the rosary is a powerful weapon in the hands of a Christian. The Blessed Virgin gave it to strengthen us in our Christian duties. (...).
A Christian soul who picks up this weapon that is the rosary is a soldier who can defend himself against all the powers of hell.
The Mother of God, who in the past has given proofs of her maternal goodness, always responds to our needs. She will not disappoint us!
Leaning on the Mother of God, you may feel trepidation as you cross dangers, but you will cross them without any harm; the spirit of strength, piety, wisdom and intelligence will be given to you, and the more fervent you will be in the recitation of the sublime prayer of the Hail Mary, the more the Holy Spirit will give you the love of prayer; and the more you will appreciate the graces that prayer brings."
Father Jean-Edouard LAMY (1853 - 1931)
Excerpts from his homily given on October 6, 1918, at La Courneuve in Paris
Father Jean-Edouard Lamy was the parish priest of La Courneuve. He was a mystic soul who received many visions of the Virgin Mary and the angels. He founded the congregation of the Servants of Jesus and Mary.
