Today, Wednesday, the day in which we pray the glorious mysteries, let us meditate on the first glorious mystery: the Resurrection of Jesus.
During the great Easter Vigil that celebrates the Resurrection of our Lord, the Church has us renew the promises of our baptism. She reminds us of St. Paul's teaching: "We were therefore buried with Christ through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life... For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with...In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus." (Rom 6:4-11).
The Resurrection is the central mystery of our Christian faith. If Christ had not risen, our faith would be vain, says St. Paul, and we would be the most miserable of men. But Christ is truly risen and he appeared to the Apostles!
Each Sunday we relive this mystery of the Resurrection; it is the day that the Lord has made. Let us spend his "day" in joy and Christian gladness and let us ask Our Lady to help us receive this grace of new life more and more, to obtain for us a greater faith and a more radical conversion of our life to Christ; for "to all who have received him, he has given the power to become children of God" (Jn 1:12).
