"I felt enveloped by Mary" (I)

The Virgin Mary has a crucial place in my life. After being baptized and receiving all the sacraments (first communion, confirmation, marriage...), I moved away from the Church at about the age of 23 or 24. I still remained close to God, by giving thanks to him spontaneously, by being aware of his many blessings, in moments of spiritual communion in front of nature’s beauty, and by helping others.

At the age of 56, during a very difficult time in my life (the death of a loved one), I came back to the Church. I know that it was Mary who reached out to me. When I was inside a church, I felt comforted, I felt enveloped by her. And little by little, I started going back to Sunday Mass, joined a choir, and went on retreats. And I had a great devotion to the Virgin Mary.

The next step was my first trip to Medjugorje (Bosnia-Herzegovina). For five days I had the sensation of floating in a place between Heaven and Earth. It was like being on a cloud. And from then on, everything accelerated:

Thanks to Mary’s intercession, I mysteriously reconciled with someone with whom I had had a lawsuit ten years before; and an important change happened in my personal life: as a divorced woman living in a domestic partnership, I could only make spiritual communions, and was satisfied with it. But at Medjugorje I felt this crazy desire to receive communion. Thanks to the Virgin Mary, my boyfriend agreed to live with me as brother and sister, so that I could receive Holy Communion! Mary is very powerful!
