Saint Michael has a privileged role in the exercise of Mary’s universal motherhood, especially in the war against the enemy of souls. The mission entrusted by the Son to the Mother, inspired and guided by his Spirit, is carried out by the united action of the Virgin Mary and St. Michael, who is the Prince of the Celestial Army, of which Mary is the Queen.
It is because we fight alongside the Virgin that she positions us in Saint Michael’s army of love. We are the army of love prepared by the Holy Spirit to fight the evil that is unleashed in us and around us. Daniel's prophecy is also being fulfilled for us: "In that time Michael, the great Prince who stands by the children of your people, will rise. It will be a time of anguish such as has never been seen before" (Dan 12:1).
Let us remember what Mary said to the visionaries of La Salette: "The time is here; the sun is getting darker; faith alone will live on… the abyss is opening. Here comes the king of kings of darkness. Here comes the beast with its subjects, claiming to be the savior of the world." The Queen of Angels foresees and announces the victory of her general, the Prince of the Heavenly Army. Let us remember that at Fatima, she sent St. Michael to give Holy Communion to the visionaries.
