God’s ways are impenetrable. And sometimes Our Lady’s ways are also impenetrable! Who would have thought that a controversial book about Fatima could have led me to a devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary?
My story begins in 2007. I read a book on the famed "Third Secret of Fatima." This book raised many questions for me about the actual message of Fatima. Convinced that Heaven could not leave questions about a message from our Heavenly Mother unanswered, I began to do some research. But this only resulted in even more questions! The more I read, the more questions I had, but also the more my knowledge on the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary increased!
I then shared my questions and the unexpected outcome of my investigation with several priest friends, who encouraged me to publish my findings. Thus, at the end of 2011, I published a book entitled Mysteries and Hidden Truths of the Third Secret of Fatima (signed under the pseudonym Joseph de Belfont at the request of my family). This book is written like an investigation, but it is above all a journey leading to the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
But the story isn’t over. At the end of 2014, after reading this book, a friend urged me to organize something for the 100th anniversary of the apparitions. At the end of March 2015, I suddenly realized that the centennial of the first apparition of the Angel (which took place in the spring of 1915) was approaching. So, without any real preparation, on Saturday, April 4, the first of the First Saturdays of the anniversary year, I sent an email to all my contacts. It was a bit like tossing a message in a bottle into the sea, and I entrusted it completely to the Blessed Virgin. The fruits were unexpected. A website was born: www.fatima100.fr, with a bi-monthly newsletter, which has gone out monthly since 2018.
Little by little, various actions were put in place: Consecrations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the First Saturdays Devotion, Living Rosaries, etc. All this with a very small team and no financial means. The many testimonies we have received since then show that Our Lady used these modest actions to lead many of us to a greater love for her and for her divine Son, through devotion to her Immaculate Heart, just as she said to young Lucia on June 13, 1917: "My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the path that will lead you to God."
