In Burkina Faso, the second Catholic Women's Day of the Diocese of Tenkodogo took place from December 11-13, 2020, in the parish of Garango in honor of the feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 2020. The focus of the event was to meditate on Mary’s privileges and to bring Catholic women to action.
According to Father Jules Pascal Zabré, rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Yagma, it was important to talk about Mary once again to Catholic women: "Mass is the heart of Christian activity. We have to refocus on the Eucharistic sacrifice as well as on Marian devotion," he said, adding that without Mary, the Church would lose its human dimension.
Pascaline Sorgho-Balima, president of the Catholic Women's Association of the Diocese of Tenkodogo, remarked that everyone must aspire to holiness: "The Church has made someone special, the Virgin Mary, an example to follow. In order to become holy, one must live like Mary," she recommended.
