Only the Rosary can change the course of History (I)

Only the Rosary can change the course of History. This is the urgent message the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, gives to humanity again and again throughout the ages.

Traditionally, the month of October is dedicated to the Rosary, or prayer through Mary. The month of May is already set apart as a special Marian month during which we express our filial love, trust and veneration to Mary. But throughout October the Church honors Mary as the one who achieves victories for us in the most difficult situations.

Already at the time of Saint Dominic, it was the Rosary that helped Simon de Montfort win the battle of Muret (1213) against the heretic Albigensian army. It was also thanks to the Rosary that Pope Saint Pius V (a Dominican) obtained victory over the Turks at Lepanto on October 7, 1571. That is why he instituted the feast of the Most Holy Rosary, also called feast of Our Lady of Victories, on that day.

Through the Rosary, Pope Innocent XI obtained from Heaven in 1683 the liberation of Vienna, Austria, from the threat of Islam. In the same way, the Turks were defeated outside Belgrade in 1716. It was this event that led Pope Clement XI to extend the feast of the Holy Rosary to the universal Church. And again, it was with the Rosary that Saint Louis de Montfort formed the soul of the Vendée region (18th century France) that later rose up to protect the faith against the repression of the godless laws of the French Revolution.

It was again the prayer of the Rosary that Our Lady of Fatima (1917) urgently requested to be prayed each day to save souls from hell. The Allied victory of the Second Battle of the Marne (near Paris) during the WWI (July 18, 1918) was also attributed to an intervention of Our Lady. And then there was the liberation of Austria from the threat of Communism in 1947...

Thus, the Rosary is a heavenly and peaceful weapon, received by Saint Dominic right from the hands of the Blessed Virgin, which has helped apostolic hearts in every age.

As long as people recite the Rosary, God will not abandon the world, for this prayer is powerful on His Heart. It is like the leaven that can regenerate the earth. The sweet Queen of Heaven cannot forget her children who unceasingly sing her praises.
