Mother Mary of Jesus (1797-1854), of the Congregation of the Canonesses of St Augustine, received heavenly communications that corroborated the revelations of Paray-le-Monial (France). In her ecstasy of May 3, 1822, Jesus told her that the vow of Consecration of France to the Sacred Heart, attributed to Louis XVI, came indeed from Him and that He ardently desired that it be carried out, in other words that the king would consecrate his family and his entire kingdom to Jesus’ Sacred Heart, as Louis XIII had done in the past with his consecration to the Blessed Virgin; that the king would have the feast solemnly and universally celebrated every year on the Friday after the octave of the Blessed Sacrament, and that he would build a chapel and an altar in His honor. On this condition, the king, the royal family and all of France would receive the most abundant blessings. This apparition occurred on June 21, 1823, on the feast of the Sacred Heart.
We do not know whether Louis XVIII received this message communicated to Mother Mary of Jesus, who died in the odor of sanctity. "France is still very dear to my Sacred Heart and she will be consecrated to it. But it must be the king himself who consecrates his person, his family and his entire kingdom to my Sacred Heart, and he should, as I have told you, raise an altar to this Heart as one has already been raised in honor of the Blessed Virgin.
I am preparing for France a deluge of graces, when she will be consecrated to my Sacred Heart... The countless outrages that I have received in the sacrament of my love have not yet been repaired! I am preparing everything; France will be consecrated to my Sacred Heart, and the whole earth will feel the blessings that I will pour out upon her. Faith and religion will flourish again in France through devotion to my Sacred Heart."
