In Kribi, a small town in southern Cameroon, during the Easter vigil at the parish of St Theresa of the Child Jesus, Bishop Damase Zinga Atangana urged the faithful to transform the resurrection of Christ into their own resurrection. The Christians of Kribi, who died with Christ because of their sins, must come out of Lent and Easter, freed from their sins, says the bishop of the diocese of Kribi.
The Brotherhood of St Mary, better known as "Ekoan Maria," of the parish of St Theresa of the Child Jesus in the district of Newtown (city of Kribi), has this mission: to live and encourage others to live Mary’s virtues, and to support the Church. This new team was installed by the pastor of this parish on Easter day.
For Father Hervé Etienne Mbarga, it is not a coincidence of timing. “May the risen Christ transform us, so we can be a subject of astonishment and admiration. Let people be moved as they see me—the former drunkard, thief, pauper, adulterer—a completely new person, because I surrendered myself to Christ,” he stressed.
So that the Christian may attain this transfiguration and kill the old man within him, the Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church in Kribi ask the faithful to pray to God through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
