Before entering the convent, a young girl went to see the Curé of Ars in France, to make a general confession. During confession, the holy priest said to her:
"Do you remember a certain ball that you attended a little while ago? At this ball, you met a charming young man, of distinguished manners, unknown to everyone and with whom all the girls were fighting over to dance." - "Yes, I do!" - "And you would have liked him to invite you to dance, but he never invited you and chose other girls, which made you jealous." - "That is true, Father."
"You probably remember that when he left, you saw two blue flames under his feet, which you thought were just an illusion…" - "That's right, Father." – "Well my daughter, this young man was a demon. And do you know why he did not invite you to dance? It is because of the scapular that you wore and that by devotion to Mary, you had kept as a safeguard."
