Our Lady of Faithfulness of Niaprahio is the name of the Marian Shrine offered by a private donor, a Catholic woman named Collette Pellaud, to the people of Guiberoua, in central west Ivory Coast.
The inauguration of the religious building, sponsored by the President of the country, took place on Sunday, February 11, 2018, in the presence of government and Church officials, and a great number of pilgrims who made the trip sometimes from a great distance. Located in Niaprahio, a town near Guiberoua, the shrine houses a replica of the statue of the Virgin of Lourdes, made in Lourdes itself.
In commenting on her gesture, the donor explained that she wanted the construction of this shrine to the glory of Mary, as a token of her gratitude for all the blessings she received from the Blessed Virgin in her Christian life. Collette Pellaud specified that this shrine is meant "to be a place of meditation open to all, a place of prayer for all those who love Ivory Coast, Africa and the whole world, without distinction of ethnicity or race" ... "It is open to anyone who feels the need to entrust their sorrow to the Virgin Mary or to share their joy with her."
