The Rosary: From Saint Pius X to Paul VI

In his last will, Pope Saint Pius X (1903-1914) wrote:

"Give me an army that recites the Rosary and I will conquer the world…It is the most beautiful prayer of all, the richest in graces, that which most pleases the Most Holy Virgin."

And Pope Paul VI (1963-1978) in his exhortation on the Marian cult of February 2, 1974, said:

"As a Gospel prayer, centered on the mystery of the redemptive Incarnation, the Rosary is therefore a prayer with a clearly Christological orientation."

"The Jesus of each Hail Mary is the very one that the succession of mysteries presents to us in turn."

"It is my favorite prayer, because of its marvelous simplicity and depth."

"Let us be assiduous in the recitation of the Rosary, both in the ecclesial community and in the intimacy of our families."
