Pope Saint John Paul II had a special connection with Fatima (Portugal) and Sister Lucia, one of the three seers of Fatima, especially after the attack on his life on May 13, 1981. He sent the future Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, then "number two" in the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, to investigate about the accuracy of the interpretation of Fatima's "Third Secret" and its completeness before its publication in the year 2000.
"Yes, it is complete," Lucia replied. And, when the cardinal wanted to verify if the consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary made on March 25, 1984, had met with the Virgin’s criteria, she again answered "yes."
When she was told that a rumor was spreading about another secret, she essentially replied: "If they know what it is, let them speak up! I do not know of any other." She was surprised that people would waste so much time looking for something non-existent instead of focusing on the real, well-known messages of the Virgin Mary.
