All the Popes since the time of Saint Dominic have talked about the Rosary. Among them, Pope Pius XI (pope from 1922 to 1939) gave this advice: "Tell your priests to pray as much as possible. As long as the Pope has not said his Rosary, his day is not over... The Rosary is the privileged means among all others to bring individuals, families and nations back to Christ … It is a very powerful weapon for sending away evil spirits, preserving the integrity of life, and acquiring virtue more easily; in a word, to obtain true peace for men." In his 1938 Encyclical on the Rosary, he wrote: "How can we not hope for everything if we use this divine method with exactitude and piety?"
Similarly, in Ingruentium malorum, Pope Pius XII (pope from 1939 to 1958) writes: "We do not hesitate to declare publicly once again that We have great hope that the Holy Rosary can heal the maladies afflicting our times… Let us arm ourselves with the most Holy Rosary, to free the world from the hatred that tears it, from the ignorance that blinds it, from the impurity that stifles it, to build up the civilization of love, the love of God and neighbor."
