In 1916, during the three apparitions of the angel at Fatima, the Angel of Peace spoke about the Heart of Jesus as well as of the Heart of Mary. The Mother is always with her Son! At the second apparition of the Virgin at Fatima on June 13, 1917, Lucia received the mission to spread the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to ensure the salvation of the world. At the time, the devotion to the Heart of Jesus was already practiced and encouraged.

As members of the human race, we all belong to Jesus. He is our Creator and Redeemer. Those who entrust themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, she brings to the Heart of Jesus, for she intercedes with Him for us. She is our mediatrix, our “shortcut” to Jesus.
