I did not really have any extraordinary personal encounter with Mary, but on reflection, I would say that she is a very unique person to me: in her affectionate motherhood, she challenges me and encourages me.
As I look upon my condition as a sinner, I rely on her especially to first heal my feelings of "disappointment" with myself, because of my incoherence, like a son who seeks the tenderness of his loving Mother. At the same time, because of this affection, when she receives me in her arms, I feel her protection which helps me to follow Jesus in the forgiveness that I must ask and give to others.
Whatever its seriousness, sin is quite common in our lives, and despite the forgiveness that comes from the Father through the unique channel of the Son, the presence of the Mother is of extraordinary value to lead me to her Son, and to help me re-assume my condition as a son, and answer the call and the mission He has entrusted to me!
