The icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa (Poland) officially arrived on Sunday of Divine Mercy on April 3, 2016 in Tenango del Aire (Mexico). The Shrine of the Divine Mercy of Tenango was founded 18 years ago, in connection with the Polish pallotine center of Czestochowa, called "Valley of the Divine Mercy."
This year, more than 15,000 people came to Tenango for the occasion. They camped on the spot, meditated on the Bible, prayed, went to confession and of course attended the solemn Mass. The icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa has been traveling throughout Mexico along with an image of Christ of Divine Mercy. Her visit to Tenango is the culmination of her pilgrimage to this country. During the solemn Mass, near the icon of Czestochowa on pilgrimage around the world, the bishop of the place solemnly announced the Universal Declaration on the Protection of the Civilization of Life.
This declaration shows the parallels between the message of the Virgin of Guadalupe and that of the Virgin of Czestochowa, which is now spreading from Mexico. It was an opportunity to present and reflect on the pilgrimage "From Ocean to Ocean" in Mexico.
