Not your stereotypical young soccer player

Nathan Allan de Souza, 21, is a Brazilian soccer player, on loan to the French club of Amiens since the summer of 2017.

He is easy to spot because of the number of tattoos covering both his arms and right leg. Some are dates having to do with his parents and his brothers, others are about God and the Virgin Mary. The Brazilian attacking midfielder describes his special abilities on the field as being able "to plan strategies and to score." He says: "I like to dribble in small spaces and to attempt long passes."

In his private life, Nathan is far from the typical young soccer player who likes to sneak out at night and party with alcohol. A prayerful man who loves the Virgin Mary, he decided to live in Pissy, a quiet village 15 kilometers west of Amiens, France:

"It's all I need. I like to lead a quiet life in the country and listen to the sound of birds. I'm not one to go out, I don’t like to drink. I prefer to share family moments and run with my dog."
