December 3 – 1st Sunday of Advent – Our Lady of Victories (Paris, France, 1836)

Bring Mary to Adoration with you

"Do not be afraid to come and worship the Lord, the Almighty, who, in his great mercy, wished to stay in our midst, so that we could live in his presence.

But I have something else to tell you: when you worship, do not be afraid to take Mary with you—she is the new Ark of the Covenant, who bore the One who bears the universe. Her mission, since the day of the Visitation, has been to come to you, to give you to Jesus, to bring you to the life of her Son.

So, when you are before the Blessed Sacrament, do not be afraid to ask Mary to exercise her maternal grace—her fertile grace—to unite you to the One whom you are contemplating."

Most Reverend Jean-Pierre Cattenoz, Archbishop of Avignon (France)
