My experience with Mary began the day I was born!
My mother had already lost three children during pregnancy. She almost lost me as well. I was born premature at seven months and I wasn’t breathing. Exhausted, my mother implored: "Holy Virgin my Mother, I have no more strength. Take care of him!" Immediately she saw that I had started breathing and color was coming to my face. My mother told me this story only after my priestly ordination.
Devotion to Mary and the daily Rosary have always been very important to us.
I entered the seminary at the age of eleven. There, the devotion to Mary was strong: daily Rosary, first Saturdays, the month of May had many events organized to give thanks ... Mary was present in the challenges I had to face ...
As a bishop, I make petitions to Mary every day. I entrusted to her the diocese of Saint Louis de Caceres in Mato Grosso (Brazil) and I also offered the Virgin Mary the diocese of Saint John of Boa Vista in Sao Paulo (Brazil) where I became bishop on November 20, 2016.
