The Rosary and the simplicity of a clear gaze

Why is this simple prayer (the Rosary) so dear to us Dominicans? Perhaps because at the heart of our tradition lies a longing for simplicity.

Saint Thomas Aquinas said that we do not understand God because He is perfectly simple.

The real simplicity of the heart is the simplicity of a clear gaze. The Rosary is indeed simple, very simple. But it has the wise and profound simplicity to which we aspire, and in which we will find peace.
